Marti Magna In the Making mermaid watercolor

Turquoise Mermaid

When I paint get lost in all the little details of my creation and totally loose track of time and I'm always so proud of each painting when it's finished.   Most of the time I almost feel like I've brought that painting to life.  Please disregard the lighting in this behind the scene pic of one of my recent commissioned paintings... this is "Turquoise Mermaid".  My client adores mermaids and really likes turtles so this was the perfect mermaid for her.   Turquoise Mermaid is one of my most recent commissioned paintings... Quotes to Inspire and Remind You

So if you read my last post I stated that throughout the month I was going to be sharing some quotes with you.   Another floral layout of the this quote version.  When I worked in an office cubicle I had a couple of quotes written on a post-it notes hanging at eye level that I would rotate with other quotes to remind myself that hard work was going to help me achieve my dreams and it hasn't let me down.  These quotes will be available soon.  Do you have any quotes you like to reference? Why I switched to watercolor

Why I switched to watercolor

Switching to watercolor was totally unintentional.   In trying to figure out a food allergy my doctor suggested I stop using acrylics just for a couple of weeks to see if it would make a difference.  Some of the acrylic paint colors I use frequently do contain cadmium so I thought okay I'll go along with her suggestion and start working with wax pastels and watercolor for a couple of weeks. If you read my post in late 2018 my latest obsession  where I talk about how much I like creating with wax pastels and how surprisingly similar they are to standard watercolour paint. I enjoyed creating...
